Bagas/Fikri Help Reduce The Burden Of Fajar/Rian At BWF World Tour Finals 2023

JAKARTA Badminton player Muhammad Rian Ardianto admitted that the existence of Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri helped reduce the burden on men's doubles at the BWF World Tour Finals 2023.

The BWF World Tour series closing tournament will take place from 13-17 December 2023 at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Center, Hangzhou, China.

Bagas/Fikri will make their debut at the event accompanying Fajar/Rian. They are two of the six Indonesian representatives who got tickets there.

Rian said the existence of two Indonesian men's doubles representatives at the BWF World Tour Finals 2023 automatically made the heavy burden in the sector split.

"It will definitely matter. If for example there are two representatives who are not very burdened. You see, there are two pairs. So, you can focus," said Rian at the PBSI National Training Center, Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

Fajar/Rian and Bagas/Fikri are currently still undergoing training at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center. They will only leave for China on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

Rian said that so far they have been optimal and ready to appear. Health conditions and other non-technical aspects have no problems so they are in a position ready to fight against anyone.

"Surely all the best players this year at the BWF World Tour Finals 2023. So, we really have to prepare to fight anyone," he said.

Four other Indonesian representatives at the 2023 BWF World Tour Finals, namely two from men's singles, one women's singles, and one women's doubles.

Men's singles fielded Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie. Then, the women's doubles and singles feature Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
