Elon Musk Reveals New Details About Tesla's Cheap Car Development
JAKARTA - Elon Musk has given a sneak peek regarding the development of Tesla's next electric vehicle, but this is a more affordable option. The Tesla CEO revealed this information in an interview with automotive figure Sandy Munro, which was uploaded to the YouTube channel.
Reported by Business Insider, December 6, Musk stated that Tesla had reached a fairly advanced stage in the development of cheap Tesla cars.
He also gave a leak about the price range of around 25,000 US dollars or the equivalent of IDR 388 million, and he also said that he regularly reviews the production stage every week.
He also proudly said that the manufacturing revolution that the cheap car would represent would amaze many people because it would not be like a typical car production line.

Going back, Musk has been putting forward Tesla's plans to develop cheap cars since 2020. At that time, he said that affordable electric cars could be achieved by halving the production costs of batteries and cells.
Musk further said the new vehicle is planned to be produced at Tesla's factory in Texas, where the Cybertruck is currently produced, with a secondary assembly line at a planned factory in Mexico.
If this is true it will put pressure on other automakers, especially those based in Detroit such as Stellantis, General Motors, and Ford to offer more affordable electric car options to be able to compete with Tesla in the electric car market.
The electric car market in the US itself has experienced significant changes in the last 12 months, with consumers increasingly looking for more affordable options. Meanwhile, the price of the Cybertruck, which Musk previously said was quite affordable compared to its competitors, turned out to be far beyond expectations, making many enthusiasts disappointed.
