Police Thwarted The Export Of Dozens Of Motorbikes From Pati To Timor Leste
The Pati Police thwarted the export of dozens of motorbikes and cars of various brands without legal or fraudulent vehicle documents for the purpose of Timor Leste.
"Similar cases have been repeatedly revealed by the Central Java Police, including by the Pati Police in 2021, but the perpetrators who were caught today are a different network from before," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pati Police, Kompol Onkoseno Gradiarso Sukahar in Pati, Wednesday.
He estimates that the number of two-wheeled vehicles that have been sent to Timor Leste is estimated to be quite large, ranging from 50 units.
The disclosure of the case, he said, began when the Pati Police team suspected that a motorized vehicle carrying eight motorbikes without vehicle documents.
The driver, when interrogated by officers, also admitted that the motorbike was about to be sent to Timor Leste Country, then the car and two-wheeled vehicle with the driver were taken to Polresta Pati for further investigation.
From the suspect from Pati named Iwan and Kuswanto, it was then developed by arresting other suspects from Boyolali Regency, namely Slamet Wiyono and Sri Widihastuti, while the other perpetrators with the initials "A" who were in charge of sending motorbikes and cars to Timor Leste are still being chased by officers.
Meanwhile, the confiscated vehicles consisted of 42 units of two-wheeled vehicles, seven units of four-wheeled vehicles, and one unit of a truck used to carry a motorcycle, while 23 units of two-wheeled vehicles to be sent to Timor Leste.
"The results of the investigation show that there are those who serve as motorcycle collectors, both the proceeds of theft and the proceeds of fiduciary crimes, while the suspect from Pati Regency is a collector and at the same time looking for them, then quite a lot of vehicles accommodated are handed over to collectors in Boyolali before being sent to Timor Leste," he said.

The price of two-wheeled vehicles per unit, he said, ranges from Rp. 3 million, while cars are more expensive according to their types and types of vehicles.
Suspect Iwan, from Pati, collected vehicles from the Pati area to Demak. Some vehicles are also purchased online.
The cross-border network is estimated to have been operating since mid-2021, while vehicles sent to Timor Leste Country have been through containers.
The suspects received different commissions. Perpetrators from Pati received commissions per motorbike of Rp. 1 million to Rp. 2 million. Meanwhile, the suspect from Boyolali, who is a married couple, received a commission of Rp. 200 thousand to Rp. 5 million.
In addition to uncovering motorcycle export syndicates without vehicle documents, Polresta Pati also uncovered cases of motorcycle theft. A total of eight suspects in theft and detention were arrested by the police.
For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Articles 480 and 481 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a sentence of seven years in prison.
