Yahukimo Police Investigate Case Of Murder Of Residents In Dekai, Victim Of Stab Wounds In Neck

JAYAPURA - The Yahukimo Police Detective Unit, Papua Mountains, handled the murder case of one of the residents on Jalan Halabo, Dekai District.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, said that based on information obtained by members of the police in the field, it was known that the victim with the initials N (40) was found dead with a stab wound to the back of the neck.

"Then the witnesses reported the incident to the Yahukimo Police and took the victim to the Dekai Hospital," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 6.

After receiving a report from the community, the Yahukimo Police Detective Unit immediately checked the condition of the victim to the Dekai Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

"Several witnesses also provided information regarding the person seen in the vicinity of the incident," he said.

In addition to the testimony from witnesses, several pieces of evidence in the form of clothing were secured by the Yahukimo Police Criminal Investigation Unit for further investigation.

Currently, personnel from the Yahukimo Police Criminal Investigation Unit, assisted by the ODC-2023 Action Task Force Team and the ODC-2023 Lidik Task Force Team, are conducting a sweep around the scene to find traces of the perpetrators.

"The team has also secured two people who were around the crime scene for further questioning," he said.

The incident is now the focus of an intensive investigation to reveal the motives and perpetrators behind the murder case that occurred in Dekaiitu.
