Bukit As High As 50 Meters Overwhelm Wonogiri Residents On Farming, SAR Conducts Search

The joint SAR team is still searching for one of the missing residents due to landslides in Ngroto Village, Kismantoro District, Wonogiri Regency, Central Java, Wednesday, December 6.

Head of the Semarang SAR Office, Heru Suhartanto, said that the landslide incident occurred in a rice field area on Tuesday, December 5, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the unfortunate incident began when the victim named Mijem (60) was farming in the morning.

In the rice fields, the location of the victims of farming is often 50 meters high.

"Suddenly there was a landslide in the rice field area," said Heru.

Several people who were also in the fields, he continued, managed to save themselves. Meanwhile, the victim did not manage to save himself until he was eventually buried by a landslide.

He explained that the search effort was carried out using manual tools and water pump sprays to unravel the former landslide soil.

"Search efforts by the joint SAR team are divided into three sectors," he said.
