Bawaslu Reminds Campaign Ads In Media Not To Do
BANDUNG - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) reminded that campaign advertisements in the media should not be carried out, because there is a special schedule for broadcasting it on television, radio, newspapers and cyber media.
According to Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja, there are sanctions that can be imposed if they are proven to have violated the provisions of the campaign schedule in the media.
"What if we are found to steal a campaign start, it can be criminal. Be careful, we convey caution, it will be subject to election crimes," said Rahmat in Bandung as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 5.
However, Bagja does not deny that three presidential-vice presidential candidates have started to publish vision and self-image through advertisements on a number of media, especially television, but he said his party still had to investigate more in this regard.
"Is this an advertisement for socialization or campaign? Campaign advertisements that meet campaign elements are not allowed. They are subject to criminal acts because they are outside the schedule," said Bagja.
It is known, in the attachment to KPU Regulation 15/2023 concerning Campaign, campaign schedules in electronic media, print media, and cyber media, it can only be done by pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates from January 21 to February 10, 2024.
For now, since November 28, 2023 yesterday, presidential and vice-presidential candidates have only been able to carry out campaigns using limited meeting methods, face-to-face meetings, and the distribution of campaign materials to the public.
In addition, it can also install campaign props in public places, debate presidential and vice-presidential candidates, and campaigns on social media.

"If the campaign clearly violates. Now what if there is no invitation? Therefore, we are discussing with friends in the Task Force, namely with the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), with the Press Council, with the KPU," Bagja added.
