The MLFF Trial Is First Limitedly Implemented, Only For This Friendly User Vehicle
PT Roatex Indonesia Toll System (RITS) said that the plan to test the implementation of the contactless toll transaction system or Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road will be limited to a number of vehicles.
Director of PT RITS Gyula Orosz said the first trial to be carried out in the second week of December 2023 on the Bali Mandara Toll Road would be applied to a number of friendly users' vehicles.
"In the end, MLFF technology will be introduced to all Indonesian people, but for this stage, we will conduct a friendly user trial in Bali," said Director of PT RITS Gyula Orosz at the Sequis Center Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Gyula said the vehicles classified as friendly users in question were ministry official vehicles, the police, and from taxi companies in Bali.
He added that internal testing itself had been carried out and had gone well.
"Later on, after the friendly user or trial is evaluated by the government, then we will enter a transition period," he said.
Gyula ensured that the financing for the trial was fully borne by his party.
"Yes, of course all expenses are borne by RITS. We cannot mention the nominal," he added.
Previously reported, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono reviewed the simulation of the implementation of the Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) contactless toll road transaction system on the Bali-Mandara Toll Road, on Wednesday, November 22.
Basuki said that the implementation of MLFF on toll roads was a transportation breakthrough in utilizing technology.
"The technology must be ready, the challenges are how to implement it to the community. I am optimistic that this process will run smoothly. This is a process to be more advanced by utilizing technology," said Basuki in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, November 23.

According to Basuki, the MLFF trial is a transition as before from cash transactions to non-cash tapping e-money, so it will definitely take time to change people's habits.
In addition, Basuki advised that at the beginning of the implementation of the MLFF, socialization was carried out which was quite clear for people who wanted to try technology to pay for the toll road without stopping.
"So that a clear information board is given for a special route to the implementation of the MLFF so that people are ready from the time before entering the Bali-Mandara Toll Road," he said.
