Ganjar Asks Jokowi To Control Prices Of Basic Materials Ahead Of Christmas And New Year
BALIKPAPAN - Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo asked the Government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to play a role in controlling the increase in basic food prices which always rise ahead of Christmas and the 2024 New Year.
This was conveyed by Ganjar after a dialogue with a number of traders at Pasar Baru, Klandasan Ilir, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Tuesday, December 5.
"I repeat, Bulog must take over again," said Ganjar as reported by ANTARA.
According to him, the current system is "very liberal" with prices controlled more dominantly by the market.
"Now (must) be controlled again by the state and the government must control it," he said.
The former governor of Central Java mentioned 2 other factors that the government needs to work on. First, stabilization in terms of production by utilizing data.
"I have repeatedly conveyed one Indonesian data including important agriculture. Land data, how many our farmers are, where are the commodities, and so on," said Ganjar.
Second, mechanization is carried out and the technology is entered so that productivity can be maximized.
According to information from the National Winning Team Media Center (TPN) broadcast in Jakarta, Ganjar visited Pasar Baru, Klandasan Ilir at 09.20 WITA, then had breakfast with the community at Warkop Miki at 09.55 WITA.

At 18.55 WITA, Ganjar greeted the traditional and interfaith community leaders at the Swiss-bell Hotel Balikpapan, on the dinner agenda. Finally, Ganjar followed the agenda of the Nongkrong Presidential Candidate with Millennials, GenZ and Local Influencers at Hobbies Coffee & Lounge.
The Indonesian KPU has appointed three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates to participate in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).
