This Is An Unexpected Moment Bumblefoot While Performing With Guns N 'Roses

JAKARTA - Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal said one unexpected moment from decades of tours and concerts. This is what the former Guns N 'Roses guitarist said.

"My biggest unexpected moment is of course [playing with Guns N 'Roses in] Rock In Rio [festival] in Brazil in 2011. And it was raining heavily. And it rained as high as a few inches on stage; they swept it up," in an interview with Rockin' Metal Revival of the Art Of Anarchy personnel revealed.

"The height is almost as high as the top of the pedal board. I remember pyro was wrong on target. It was so wet that it felt crazy. And I remember trying to play guitar without a frit, and my fingers were so cut off, my skin was so... And I couldn't... It felt like trying to play in a wet balloon trying to penetrate everything; everything was soaking wet," he continued.

"There was a beautiful girl in the front row who was holding the stormtrooper helmet 'Star Wars'. And I said, 'Yes, give me the helmet,' and I thought I would wear it and play for a while while wearing it. So, I took the helmet, and I put it on, and as soon as I touched my cheek, it felt like it blended, because of my skin, everything was soaking wet."

"And I remember just saying, 'Oh, bad luck.' And as soon as I said the 'S' curse, it all got foggy and like 'OK, I got this helmet which needed a little effort to let it go.' And it wasn't good when you tried to play guitar in a song. And I can't see anything; it's all foggy."

"And the iconic solo [to 'Welcome To The Jungle'] that I have to play is coming to an end and it's like, the opening of events and everything, and it's like, 'Oh my God. It's not going to go well.' So if my memory is right, I managed to put on the helmet at least cover my eyes and keep it there."

"Then I thought I nodded, like, 'Ah, good.' And it immediately fell back. So, to one point, like in the middle of a solo game, where I had to stop playing and pull this helmet back so I could see what I was doing. And those few seconds I stopped playing, the next day I got hundreds of angry emails from Brazilians, who said how much I like to destroy their life and death threats and so on. And to this day, 12 years later, occasionally someone will send me an email containing a screenshot of me wearing the helmet, it reads, 'Ha ha ha ha.'"

"So it was really an unexpected moment," Bumblefoot ended.
