Wow! Taylor Swift Earned 100 Million US Dollars from Spotify Streaming This Year

JAKARTA - Taylor Swift will reportedly earn more than 100 million US dollars from Spotify streaming alone in 2023.

Swift was recently named Spotify's Top Global Artist of 2023, with the pop star amassing more than 26 billion streams on the platform.

Now, Billboard estimates that Swift will take home 100 million US dollars from Spotify alone. According to their royalty calculations, the 26 billion streams Swift has collected will generate 101 million US dollars in royalties by the end of December 2023.

Taking publishing revenue into account, Billboard claims Swift will earn around $131 million on the streaming platform.

However, this amount does not include other platforms such as Apple Music, YouTube Music and Amazon Music. If these streaming services were included, Billboard estimates that Swift would have a total of 38.3 billion streams, which would allegedly earn the singer about $160 million in royalties.

Add in publishing revenue, and Swift's on-demand streaming revenue will total close to 200 million US dollars.

News of Swift's success follows Spotify's recent announcement about their royalty model. In November, the platform confirmed that all songs on the platform must have a minimum of 1,000 streams before they can earn any royalties.

Spotify announced a series of new policies in hopes of reducing the risk of fraud and curbing content volume.

Spotify's new streaming limits also follow news that less popular songs will receive a cut in royalties, despite the company making US$69 million in profits from July to September 2023.

Spotify also raised subscription rates for the first time in July – UK users will now have to pay £10.99 per month for a Premium account.
