Tomorrow Monday, KPK Will Examine Deputy Minister Of Law And Human Rights Eddy Hiariej Regarding Bribery And Gratification Cases
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled a summons to the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej for questioning on Monday, December 4 tomorrow. Eddy has now been named a suspect in bribery and gratification cases. However, tomorrow Eddy will be examined as a witness for other suspects. "That's right. The information we obtained (Eddy was asked) to be present with the capacity as a witness in the case file of another suspect Monday," said KPK News Section Head Ali Fikri to reporters, Sunday, December 3. Previously, the KPK revealed the form of gratification allegedly in the form of receipt of a sum of money related to consulting and assistance for the legal entity of a company. The determination of the suspect based on an investigation warrant (Sprindik) has been signed since two weeks ago. In total, there were 4 people named as suspects, namely 3 recipients and 1 bribe giver and gratuities. KPK has also sent a letter to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the determination of Eddy Hiariej as a suspect. The letter was received by the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg) on Friday, December 1.

KPK investigators have also prevented Eddy Hiariej from leaving the country for investigation purposes. Eddy's prevention abroad by the KPK was made on Wednesday, November 29. "KPK on Wednesday (November 29) submitted a letter to the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent four people from traveling abroad, including the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights, lawyers, and the private sector," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Thursday 30 November.
