Syed Modi India 2023: Dejan/Gloria To Final To Face Japanese Doubles
JAKARTA - Dejan Ferdiansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja stepped into the final of Syed Modi India International 2023 after defeating the German mixed doubles, Mark Lamsfuss/Isabel Lohau.
Dejan/Gloria won after a tight match to the rubber game with a score of 21-19, 19-21, and 22-20 at BBD UP Badminton Academy, India, on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
The two pairs chased each other's numbers from the start. Dejan/Gloria began to move away with a score of 8-4. After that, they secured the advantage in the interval with a score of 11-7.
After the interval, Lamsfuss/Lohau caught up, but couldn't equalize. Indonesian mixed doubles even moved back 16-11.
Dejan/Gloria were indeed able to maintain their advantage until they won the first game. However, their struggle was not easy.
When match points took place at 20-16, Dejan/Gloria were almost overtaken by opponents.
The German doubles could have thwarted Dejan/Gloria's chances of winning the first game four times. Fortunately, the opponent's points were stopped at 19.
In the second game, it was no less tight. Having chased numbers, the German doubles moved away and closed the interval with a score of 11-5.

After that, Lamsfuss/Lohau added two points to match points. Dejan/Gloria only managed to add one point before finally giving up the second game.

However, Lamsfuss/Lohau locked the interval with an 11-8 advantage. Chasing points occurred after a break until the position was 14-14.
Dejan/Gloria have managed to move away since getting 15th point. However, the German doubles did not give up.
The match was getting hotter when Lamsfuss/Lohau were five points behind until the score drew 19-19.
The first match point was then obtained by Dejan/Gloria before being reunited by Lamsfuss/Lohau.
Continuing to duece, Dejan/Gloria were finally able to collect the remaining two points without being followed by the opponent.
The victory added to their positive record when they met Lamsfuss/Lohau with a score of 2-0.
Dejan Ferdiansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja advanced to the final of Syed Modi India International 2023 and will face fifth seeded tournament from Japan, Yuki Kaneko/Misaki Matsumoto on December 3, 2023.
