Serang Police Arrest Village Head Fake Land Documents

Serang Police have arrested a village head in the Kibin District, Serang Regency, with the initials AB (65) after several times being absent from the investigator's summons.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Wiwin Setiawan said AB was arrested by personnel of the Intelligence Unit (Harda) of the Serang Police Satreskrim at a five-star hotel in Serang City, on Thursday (30/11).

"This village head was arrested because he was suspected of falsifying a land certificate belonging to Chandra Gunawan (46), a resident of South Jakarta. For further investigation, suspect AB is now being secured at the Serang Police Headquarters," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 1.

The police chief explained, in the victim's report related to land ownership. This case was reported at the end of August 2023 after reporters were approached by several unknown people who sued that the land belonged to them.

"When the complainant checks the land and plans to build, a number of unknown people are approached who sue and have an oration that their land will be built in the residential area," he explained.

The police chief explained that the victim had cleaned up all administrative affairs related to the land. Because someone sued, as the rightful land owner, the victim did not accept the perpetrator's actions and reported it to the perpetrators of the Serang Police Headquarters.

"After the incident, the reporting party felt disapproved and reported the incident to the Serang Police," he explained.

The police chief emphasized that the village head had been summoned several times by investigators, but was always absent and was finally forcibly picked up by investigators from the Harda Unit led by Ipda Supendi.

"Because of the forgery of letters, suspect AB was charged with Article 263 in conjunction with 55 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of six years," he said.
