Prevent Provokers, Central Java Provincial Government Reminds Citizens To Be Wise In Absorbing Information On The 2024 Election Campaign
CENTRAL JAVA - The Central Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) appealed to the public to be wise in absorbing information during the 2024 election campaign period.
Acting Governor (Pj) of Central Java Nana Sudjana said being wise in digesting information can prevent people from being easily provoked by irresponsible parties.
"Do not let the people in Central Java easily follow news that is not necessarily true," said Nana in Semarang, Central Java, Thursday, November 30, as quoted by Antara.
Based on previous election experiences, Nana said, social media has become a vulnerable place for the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, and actions lead to provocations.
Therefore, he continued, anticipation continues, including warning the public, to be smarter and wiser in reading information on social media.
"In the implementation of the campaign, the vulnerability we are observing is cyber. We continue to monitor the potential for hoaxes, hate speech, and provocation efforts," said Nana.
According to him, cyber monitoring is carried out simultaneously by involving relevant agencies, including coordinating with the National Police, TNI, the Attorney General's Office, religious leaders, and community leaders. In fact, the declaration of peace elections in Central Java has also involved related parties.
Nana hopes that community leaders, as well as leaders of political parties, can continue to socialize peaceful elections so that the implementation of all stages of the 2024 General Election, especially in Central Java Province, can run in an orderly and peaceful manner.
