PKS Reply Jokowi: The IKN Law Can Be Changed, We Fight In The DPR

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) replied to President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) statement regarding the relocation of the State Capital (IKN) from DKI Jakarta to Kalimantan.Chairman of the PKS DPP Al Muzzammil Yusuf reminded Jokowi that the law could be changed if later the presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan was elected president in 2024.According to Muzammil, changing the IKN Law is legal to be implemented and can be fought for through the DPR RI."Oh, that's okay. The law can be changed, PKS is in the DPR, changing the law is legal, the DPR's status is legislative," said Muzzammil at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, November 30.Muzzammil emphasized that the PKS faction always rejects the ratification of the IKN Law even when it is still in the legislative process in the DPR. Because he said, the legislative product still needs maturation."Yes, we have two times, January 2022 is the first ratification, changed in October 2023, within a year 9 months has been changed. Preparation means it's not ripe enough, right," he said. Therefore, Muzzammil stated, PKS will continue to fight for the rejection of moving the capital in the DPR."Yes, in the future we will fight through the DPR, the official stage is in the DPR," he concluded.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) did not question the attitude of PKS to reject the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). Jokowi only emphasized that IKN had been drafted under law."Yes, that's an opinion, right, it's okay. It's okay to express opinions, right, go ahead," said Jokowi, Wednesday, November 29."But IKN already has a law. There is already a law," he said.
