Megawati Deserves To Be Annoyed And Attacks, Even Though It's A Big Risk
JAKARTA - PDIP General Chair Megawati Sukarnoputri again spills her annoyance to the ruling government. Without naming, Megawati accused the government of acting arbitrarily. Megawati said, the current government is like the New Order era.
"Can you pressure the people? Can you command anything to the people to ask through this legislation in the Republic of Indonesia?" said Megawati, who was joined by applause at the consolidation of volunteers supporting Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, Monday (27/11/2023).
"Mother (herself shouldn't have to be like that, but she's annoyed. Why? This Republic is full of sacrifices to know or not? Why do you people who are just in power now want to act like it was during the New Order era?" Megawati said again passionately.
Although he did not say to whom the criticism was intended, everyone must know that Megawati was launching an attack on President Jokowi.
Megawati's relationship with Jokowi stems from the President's maneuver which does not seem to support the party's choice of Presidential Decree bearing the white-nosed bull, Ganjar Pranowo.
The climax was when the Constitutional Court (MK), such as smoothing the way for Jokowi's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to run as a vice presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), accompanying Prabowo Subianto.
This is not the first time Megawati has launched an attack on the ruling government. Not long ago, the daughter of Indonesia's first president Soekarno also expressed her disappointment through a speech. He accused the government of intimidating ahead of the 2024 General Election.
Why Megawati, and PDIP politicians in general, look at it difficult to move away from Jokowi's decision to separate ways from the party that has made his name? Whereas in politics, as is known together, there are no friends or eternal opponents. That is, politics is dynamic, aka it has changed.
Political analyst Pangi Syarwi Chaniago said the attack-attacking trick was an ordinary phenomenon in politics. However, he assessed that PDIP is currently in a dilemma. Every attack launched by PDIP actually returns to their own.
The reason is, whatever Jokowi is currently doing cannot be separated from the PDIP, because basically the former Surakarta Mayor is a party official, PDIP cadre, and Jokowi's supporting party is PDIP.
"Whatever products are currently in effect or whatever actions are taken by the current government, can it be separated from PDIP products?" Pangi said during a conversation with VOI.
"So it's really difficult for the current PDIP and Ganjar positions," added the Executive Director of the Voxpol Center Research and Consulting.

If examined further according to Pangi, Megawati and PDIP's current position has also been felt by Prabowo and Gerindra during the 2019 presidential election. When Jokowi as the ruler was still on the PDIP side, it was the Gerindra camp that loudly criticized the government.
"That's why the public sees this as acting, the pattern is the same, because in the past Prabowo was also in a position like Megawati now. This is actually the same, only the position is different. So this drama is never finished," said Pangi.
It is believed that the continuous attack put forward by the PDIP camp will help the exodus of Jokowi's supporting base in Ganjar's camp to cross to Prabowo, as stated by the Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators, Burhanuddin Muhtadi.
According to Burhanuddin, the strategy played by PDIP has actually accelerated and accelerated the migration process for Jokowi's supporters to Prabowo's supporters. In fact, he predicts that it is not impossible that the Ganjar-Mahfud MD pair will finish third if this strategy continues.
"PDIP with its attacking strategy certainly, although it may not be realized, helped the exodus of Pak Jokowi's base from Ganjar to Prabowo because most of Ganjar's supporting bases are Pak Jocki loyalists," he said, quoted by Antara.
However, Pangi Syarwi Chaniago has other opinions. He did not consider Megawati's attack as a blunder or had the potential to make Ganjar's supporters move to Prabowo's side.
Pangi believes that this strategy must actually be carried out by the PDIP camp so that Ganjar Pranowo can reduce Prabowo Subianto's increasing popularity.
"This is Megawati's strategy to fight to win. She attacks the integrity and competence of the authorities to win," said Pangi.
"It has to be like that, if it's not like this (continue to attack the government) then Ganjar is in danger of losing and Prabowo can win easily," said Pangi again.
