Complete List Of MotoGP Era Title Winners
JAKARTA There have been eight different names that have come out as world champions in MotoGP history since the era began in 2002.
The newest MotoGP 2023 champion is Francesco Bagnaia. The Italian Ducati Lenovo Team racer defended the title at the last Grand Prix of the season in Valencia, Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Bagnaia is the name that won the world title in two consecutive years. Last season he also won titles at the end of the season after competing with Fabio Quartararo.
In addition to the two names, six other names that had won the MotoGP era were Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, Marc Marquez, and Joan Mir.
Rossi has won the first four seasons since the MotoGP era. The rider nicknamed The Doctor initially won with Honda in 2002 and 2003, then continued his slick work with Yamaha in 2004 and 2005.
Two seasons after that, world champion menjadi milik Hayden pada 2006 bersama Honda dan Stoner pada 2007 dengan Ducati. Rossi lalu meraih dua gelar sekalan lagi bersama Yamaha pada 2008 dan 2009.
Yamaha continued their dominance to the following year when they brought Jorge Lorenzo to world champions. Stoner then restored Honda's glory in 2011.
In 2012, Lorenzo again raised the world title with Yamaha. Furthermore, the era of Marc Marquez arrived. He won back-to-back with Honda in 2013 and 2014.
