Pelni Jayapura Prepares 5 Fleet Ships Ahead Of Christmas And New Year
JAYAPURA - PT Pelni Jayapura Branch, Papua has prepared five fleets of passenger ships to anticipate a surge in passengers for the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year celebrations.
Head of PT Pelni Jayapura Branch, Yanuardi address, said the increase in passengers was predicted on December 22, 2023. According to him, five fleets of passenger ships, namely KM Ciremai, Sinabung, Gunung Dempo, Labobar and Dobonsolo.
"The five fleets have been prepared by the Ministry of Transportation to anticipate a surge in Christmas and New Year 2024 passengers," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 29.
According to the address of the five passenger ships, there are three ships that will serve special passengers in Papua.
"Rute shipping in Papua are Jayapura, Biak, Serui, Nabire, Manokwari, and Sorong. For domestic departures, the Ambon and Manado routes are most interested in," he said.
He explained that during December there will be 14 ship visits to Jayapura Port with the addition of three route ships in Papua so that it is hoped that this can unravel the density of passengers like the previous year.
"Because in Jayapura City for Christmas and New Year are the most crowded passengers, so we prepare ships with special routes," he said.
