Firli Suspect Of Extortion, KPK Has Not Received Information When Polda Metro Calls 4 Leaders
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) admits that it does not yet know when its four leaders will be summoned by the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities that ensnared the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri.
It is known that Firli has been named a suspect in the alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. This case is being handled by the police.
"Regarding the summons of four Deputy Chairmen of the KPK, we have not been informed about the summons, yes," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted on Wednesday, November 29.
Even so, Ali said that his party already knew about the examination from the media. So, the four leaders will attend if the summons is made officially.
"If there is a call, of course it will attend in order to clarify and make clear a criminal event," he said.
As previously reported, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, said four anti-corruption commission leaders would be summoned in connection with the case that ensnared Firli Bahuri. The summons will be held next week.
"Including that, we are on an agenda for next week's examination regarding the examination of the leaders of the Indonesian KPK," Ade told reporters, Friday, November 24.
