Nagan Raya Sets Flood Emergency Status Until December 4
NAGAN RAYA - Nagan Raya Regency Government, Aceh Province has declared a flood emergency status for local districts to take effect from November 21 to December 4, 2023.
"This decision is in accordance with Decree (SK) Number 362/421/Kpts/2023 dated November 21, 2023 concerning the Determination of the Flood Emergency Status for the Nagan Raya Regency Area," said Acting Regent Nagan Raya, Aceh, Fitriany Farhas, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 28.
He said the status of the flood emergency in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, which was valid for 14 days, could be extended or shortened according to the needs of handling in the field.
According to Fitriany, the determination of the emergency status is an effort by the local government in overcoming and tackling natural disasters due to flood disasters that have hit the area since November 20, 2023.

The Head of BPBD Nagan Raya, Aceh, Irfanda Rinaldi said that the cause of the natural flood that previously occurred in nine sub-districts in the local district was due to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and caused the Krueng Nagan and Krueng Tripa rivers to increase, thus overflowing and inundating residential areas.
"Due to the high rainfall that hit Nagan Raya a few days ago, 45 villages were flooded in nine sub-districts," he said.
Flood areas include Darul Makmur District 11 gampong / village, Tripa Makmur District 9 villages, Tadu Raya District 8 villages, Kuala District 2 villages, Kuala Pesisir District 4 villages, Seunagan District 2 villages, East Seunagan District 2 villages, Beutong District 5 villages, and Suka Makmue District one village.
