Perdana Campaign In Aceh And Papua, Mahfud: Show Indonesia Must Be United

JAKARTA - Candidate for vice president number 3, Mahfud MD explained the purpose of himself and presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo to start the 2024 presidential election campaign from the most end of Indonesia.

On the first day of the campaign period, Ganjar will visit Papua, while Mahfud visits Sabang, Aceh. From the two separate campaign locations, Mahfud said, he and Ganjar wanted to show the symbol of unity.

"(Showing) that Indonesia must unite, not less territory," said Mahfud while attending the 2024 Election Peace Campaign Declaration event at the General Elections Commission (KPU) office, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 27.

It is planned that the regional routes that become the campaign points for Ganjar and Mahfud will start from the areas on the far left and right, then will gather in the central regions of Indonesia.

"West and east, Mr. Ganjar is at the easternmost and I am at the westernmost in Indonesia. We will use virtual later," explained Mahfud.

Separately, Ganjar ensured that he would move by presenting a peaceful 2024 presidential election. Moreover, the signing of the declaration of a peace election has been held by the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) today, Monday, November 27.

"Sudah membuat komitmen, tugas kita adalah melaksanakan tata dan komitmen yang sudah kita diandatangani," ujar Ganjar dalam kegiatan Deklarasi Campaign Damai, Tertib, dan Taat Hukum Pemilu 2024 yang digelar Badan Pengawas Pemilihan Umum (Bawaslu).

Today, all participants of the 2024 General Election will read out the declaration and signing of the declaration plaque in the Declaration of the 2024 General Election Peace Campaign at the courtyard of the Indonesian KPU office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta.

This declaration, apart from being attended by three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, will also be attended by general chairmen of political parties participating in the 2024 General Election as well as representatives of candidates for members of the Regional Representative Council.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has determined that the election campaign period will take place from 28 November 2023 to 10 February 2024, while the voting is scheduled to be held on 14 February 2024.
