North Korea Has Launched First Spy Satellite Into Orbit
The North Korean government, in a Reuters report, announced that it had launched its first spy satellite. The satellite was launched on Tuesday, November 22.
North Korea's Central News Agency (KCNA) said the satellite that had been launched was named Malligyong-1. This satellite was confirmed to have arrived in orbit at 22:54 local time.
Although North Korea claims that the launch of reconnaissance satellites is a legitimate right to strengthen the self-defense capabilities of their country. However, the United States strongly condemned the launch.
The White House asked partners and allies from various countries to follow in their footsteps, which is to condemn North Korea. According to them, the launch of a spy satellite has involved technology that supports intercontinental ballistic patrol programs.

The White House also said that the launch was a form of "blast violation of some UN Security Council resolutions, increasing tensions, and risk disrupting the stability of security situations in the region and its surroundings."
Before the Malligyong-1 satellite was successfully launched, North Korea had tried to launch a spy satellite twice. However, the first two attempts failed and the debris landed at sea.
With the success of Malligyong-1, North Korea plans to launch more spy satellites in the future. They also plan to monitor South Korea using the satellite.
