JAKARTA The quarter-finals of the 2023 U-17 World Cup present a duel titled bigmatch. Two favorite countries, Brazil U-17 and Argentina U-17 will meet.
This rivalry-packed battle will take place at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Friday, November 24, 2023. The action starts at 19.00 WIB.
The Samba team, who are the defending champions of the competition, maintains their hope of defending the title by beating Ecuador's U-17 with a score of 3-1 in the round of 16.
Meanwhile, the Tango Team, who are still looking for their first title in the tournament, got tickets to the quarter-finals after stopping Venezuela U-17 with a landslide score of five goals without reply.
In the history of the tournament, Brazil U-17 is the second most successful country. The four titles they have only lost to Nigeria U-17 (five titles).
Tim Samba got the fourth title when they hosted the 2019 edition. At that time, they stopped Mexico U-17 in the final.
On the other hand, Argentina U-17 has not yet felt the FIFA level U-17 tournament title at all. Of their 14 participations, the best achievement was third in 1991, 1993, and 2005.
Therefore, they really need a title in Indonesia to complete their success at all levels of the FIFA tournament after the 2022 World Cup seniors and the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
