The Directorate General Of Pas Explores The Problem Of John Kei Using A Cellphone At Salemba Prison, Will Be Sanctioned If Proven

The Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjen Pas) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights will investigate the matter of John Refra alias John Kei who used cell phones in the Salemba Correctional Institution (Lapas), Central Jakarta.

The disclosure of Johm Kei using a cellphone when examined by Polda Metro Jaya related to the feud between his members which resulted in the death of GR as a result of being shot in Bekasi, West Java.

"The Salemba Prison is conducting an in-depth investigation," said Public Relations Coordinator of the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Edward Pagar Alam in his statement, Monday, November 20.

If it is proven that John Kei used a cellphone, then a firm witness will be given to him. This is because his actions violated Law number 22 of 2022 concerning Permayarakatan and Permemkumham number 6 of 2013 concerning Order of Prisons/Rutans.

"If it is proven that the person concerned will be subject to disciplinary sanctions," said Edward.

John Ken is known to use his cellphone when undergoing an examination by Polda Metro Jaya. This is because investigators are investigating the question that Nus Kei's men had contacted John Kei before carrying out the attack.

During the examination, John Kei agreed to be called. However, he stated that he had banned attacks.

"The person concerned admitted that he was contacted, but the person concerned stated that he prohibited it, he said that. However, we will investigate further," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Hengki Haryadi.

Meanwhile, the feud between the two groups was motivated by revenge. This is because their conflict has occurred in Maluku since September 2023.

The attack began when the Nus Kei group gathered at its headquarters in the Pondok Gede area, Sunday, October 29. There, they planned an attack plan.

The Nus Kei group consists of six people. They have the initials GR, YR, ARK, BMR, YBR and HDR. They have been arrested.

After the strategy was deemed mature, they headed to the headquarters of the John Kei group, which is the Titian Indah Complex. They are equipped with sharp weapons (sajam) to attack.

However, when the attack occurred, Jhon Kei's group was already ready. The resistance was carried out using firearms (senpi).

Until finally, in that feud GR became a victim because he was shot. He was declared dead while on his way to the hospital.
