Battalion 411/Pandawa Kostrad Task Force Fails To Supply Firearms To KKB In Nduga
JAYAPURA - The Raider 411/Pandawa Kostrad Mechanized Yonif Task Force thwarted the supply of two firearms and logistics to be sent to Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains.
Head of Kogabwilhan III, Col. Czi Gusti Nyoman Suriastawa, said two M4 and AR 15 long-barreled firearms were confiscated on Sunday (19/11).
Also confiscated are air rifles,'solar cells' and other logistics to be sent to armed criminal groups (KKB) in the Nduga area.
"The firearms were confiscated in a building in Batu Boundary Airport Camp," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.
According to Suriastawa, these firearms are very dangerous because they are part of a new generation of assault weapons that will be used by KKB to create chaos in Kenyam District, Nduga Regency.
Previously, the team received information regarding the plan for the KKB action to attack the security forces so that members of the task force immediately conducted a sweep in the rock boundary camp area which was suspected of being the location of the group crossing.
"When carrying out the sweep of the two targets, the Battalion 411/Kostrad Deputy Task Force team saw people suspected of running towards the forest and leaving luggage that was likely to be smuggled," he said.

After inspection in the building, there were several sacks containing two long-barreled M4 Carbine and AR 15 Carbine rifles with two 5.56 mm magazines, one air rifle, one machete, and two Morning Star flags.
"It is suspected that the two firearms will be used by the KKB in carrying out acts of terror against the community and attacks on security forces on December 1, 2023," he said.
The firearms likely came from border areas using water routes and then entered Kenyam.
