Israel's Beating Through A Thin Victory, Romania Qualifies For Euro 2024
JAKARTA - Romania won a ticket to the final round after beating Israel 2-1 in the Group I match for qualifying Euro 2024 at Pancho Arena, Fencsut, Hungary, Sunday, November 19 in the morning WIB. Romania qualified after winning the group.
Romania is back in the European Cup. At the last event at Euro 2020, Romania actually became one of the hosts with England, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Russia, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Hungary, Germany and Scotland.
But ironically Romania failed to qualify for the finals. At that event, the hosts continued to play the qualifying round. On the other hand, for Germany, who hosted Euro 2024, it did not undergo the qualifying round.
Romania alone managed to beat Israel which made them appear as group winners by pocketing 19 points. Romanian points can no longer be pursued because the qualifying round leaves one game left.
Romania also qualified for the finals after missing the final. This is Romania's seventh appearance in the European Cup.
Meanwhile, Israel, which has point 12 only ranked third, failed to win an automatic ticket to Germany.
In that match, Israel actually acted as host. But the situation is heating up because of Israel's war against Palestine so that the match is not held in the country. The match was moved to Hungary.
Israel started brilliantly by ahead through a quick goal. The game has only been running for two minutes, striker Eran Zahavi has put Israel ahead.
Goals came after Zahavi, who got no control to greet the ball from a corner with a header that beat the Romanian goal.
But Israel's advantage did not last long. Romania only took 10 minutes to equalize the score.

A Romanian goal was produced by George Puscas after his header which greeted the rebound ball broke into Israel's goal. The 1-1 score lasted until the end of the first half.
In the second half, Romania played more aggressively. As a result, they turned things around after Ianis Hagi scored in the 63rd minute.
While ahead 2-1, Romania lost a player after Valentin Mihaila was shown a red card for making a hard tackle against Dor Turgeman in the 85th minute.
However, Romania was able to maintain the advantage. Hagi's goal turned out to be a determination because nothing else was created. The 2-1 score for Romania closed the game and passed the team to the finals.
