Panji Gumilang Jalani Session Of Reading Exceptions For Blasphemy Cases At The Indramayu District Court

InDRAMAYU - The District Court (PN) of Indramayu, West Java, held a second trial against the defendant Panji Gumilang with the agenda of submitting an exception in the alleged criminal act of blasphemy."So, on the agenda of the second trial today is the reading of the exception or objection from the defendant's legal advisor," said Indramayu District Court Spokesperson Adrian Anju Purba in Indramayu Regency, West Java, Antara, Wednesday, November 15.Adrian explained that the trial began at 09.00 WIB, attended by the public prosecutor (JPU), the Indramayu District Court Judges, as well as Panji Gumilang and his legal advisory team.During the trial, continued Adrian, the legal advisor team for the defendant Panji Gumilang was given the opportunity to file an exception to the indictment that had been submitted by the prosecutor at the previous trial on Wednesday, November 8."Next, the panel of judges was given the opportunity to then give a response to the prosecutor's exception," added Adrian.He explained that the submission of the exception was the right of the defendant."Pak Panji, as a defendant, was present; because this is the agenda of an objection note or exception from the defendant. According to the Criminal Code, it is the right of the defendant, against every indictment, he has the right to file an exception," said Adrian.A number of security officers from the police and local security forces were also deployed to ensure the smooth running of the trial process."The number of officers is to ensure the safety and stability of the trial," he said.At the previous trial, the Public Prosecutor charged Panji Gumilang with three charges combined with cumulative charges and alternative or subsidiary charges.The primary indictment submitted by the Public Prosecutor relates to Article 14 paragraph (1) of the Law (UU) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 1946 concerning broadcasting fake news and deliberately publishing trouble in the community.The prosecutor also charged Panji Gumilang with the ITE Law, namely Article 45A paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE.
For other charges, namely Article 156 Letter (a) of the Criminal Code regarding intentional in public, expressing feelings or committing actions that are basically hostility, abuse, blasphemy against a religion held in Indonesia.
