Kemenparekraf-BEI Holds Demo Day For Tourism And Creative Economy Actors, This Is The Goal

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is collaborating with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to hold a Demo Day KreatIPO activity.

This activity was carried out to facilitate tourism and creative economy actors to present their products or services to capital market stakeholders including underwriters, as well as other capital market supporting institutions and professions.

"The Demo Day activity provides an opportunity for parekraf actors to do networking and connect with institutions and supporting professions for the capital market," said Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Rizki Handayani Mustafa in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, November 14.

Rizki specifically conveyed the message of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno so that parekraf actors are educated regarding the IPO so that capital problems that are still one of the big challenges for parekraf business actors in Indonesia can be resolved.

"Menparekraf conveyed, continue and this is very important because this financing model from the IPO is one of the ways to develop the parekraf industry," he said.

Therefore, the Demo Day KreatIPO program, which is part of the Tourism and Creative Economy Roadshow Program towards this IPO, will be a lesson for parekraf actors to receive responses from underwriters for the effects and professional companies supporting the capital market, so that they can help improve their business.

In addition to identifying areas that need to be improved.

"We encourage our fellow creative and creative business actors to increase their abilities so that they can become bigger, because thus the target of employment and investment targets of IDR 40 trillion next year can also be achieved together," said Rizki.

On the same occasion, the Director of Financing Access at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, said that there were nine (9) parekraf business actors who held the Demo Day on Monday, November 13.

"We collaborated with IDX Incubator to initiate a series of programs to prepare parekraf players to be ready for the pitch like today," said Hayun.

Hayun said that on Monday, November 13, Demo Day invited many underwriters to listen to the pitching of the parekraf actors.

"Because when the ladies and gentlemen will have an IPO, there will be the most discussions with the underwriters in their preparation. So, please all of you to be able to use this forum for coordination, communication with the underwriters, then with financial institutions and the IDX," he said.

Meanwhile, President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Iman Rachman, said that his party is ready to provide assistance to tourism and creative economy actors who want to utilize capital market funding from open companies through the IPO.

"I represent the Indonesia Stock Exchange to express my gratitude for this cooperation initiative which is also in line to invite more Indonesian small and medium enterprises, especially from the tourism sector and the creative economy to be able to grow and develop through funding in the capital market," he added.

On that occasion, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the IDX also signed the MoU as a form of cooperation in encouraging and accelerating tourism and creative economy business actors to go public with an initial public offering (IPO) scheme or listing their shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
