Geddy Lee And Alex Lifeson Will Return To Studio

JAKARTA - In a new interview with Long Island Weekly, Rush bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee revealed plans to produce new music in the near future.

Currently, Geddylee is promoting his upcoming memoir My Effin Life.

"I recently found some of the remaining songs from my 2000 solo album [My Favorite Headache). Listening to it was really fun and I decided that I wanted to make it fresher," Lee said.

"And that experience reminds me of how much fun I am in the studio. So of course, my lifelong friend and bandmate Alex [Lifeson, Rush guitarist] and I want to go back to the studio together and see what might happen," he continued.

"I have an idea I also want to make up for myself. After I finish all the crazy nonsense I've agreed to - the book tour and TV shows and find space for myself - I certainly want to start playing things."

But, Lee continued, he can't tell anyone now because he just scheduled his book tour. And after the tour, Lee will see where he "lands" after a vacation with his wife.

"I don't like making plans too far ahead. I am scheduled to syudio my partner at Rush for more than 45 years. But, now, I have to prioritize other things," he said.

To date, Lee has released only one solo album, My Favorite Headache mentioned above. The album was recorded at an uncertain Rush future. The band is in the midst of a five-year hiatus after the tragic deaths of women and wife drummer Neil Petart respectively in 1997 and 1998.
