Anticipating Floods, Heru Budi Instructs River Dredges In All Areas Of Jakarta
JAKARTA - Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono called all levels of the DKI Provincial Government to dredging rivers until next week. This was revealed by Heru after reviewing the dredging of the Ciliwung River on the flow in Kelurahan Kebon Baru, Tebet, South Jakarta and Bidara Cina Village, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. "The DKI Regional Government through the DKI Department carried out dredging flowers. So, we will continue to dredge up rivers that must be revitalized. Next week we will carry out all service activities throughout Jakarta," said Heru, Friday, November 10. Heru said, this dredging would be carried out by PJLP officers such as the public infrastructure and facilities (PPSU) to the state civil apparatus (ASN). "All heavy equipment we lower so we can anticipate flooding," said Heru. Since last month the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service (SDA) has dredged rivers at a number of points. In total, there are already 240 heavy equipment deployed to dredge mud in the river. "Tadi the SDA said, today at all moving points. There are 240 heavy equipment down to dredge up rivers in order to anticipate flooding," said Heru.

With this effort, Heru hopes that the flood intensity of vulnerable areas due to rain and flood shipments will decrease and inundation recedes quickly. Although, Heru admitted that it was impossible for these vulnerable areas to be immediately avoided by flooding. "Hopefully the inundation will recede quickly. Jakarta cannot avoid flooding because land subsidence continues to fall. Try to open in the data, keep going down. That's why in certain areas we also make pumps. There are mobile pumps and static pumps," he added.
