In The Aftermath Of The Ministry Of Environment And Forestry Sanctions, The Volume Of The RMKE Shelf Is Far Below The Volume Of The Dismantling Of The Train
PT RMK Energy Tbk reported that it had loaded 798 barges with a total volume of 6.3 million MT of coal as of September 2023, an increase of 14.5 percent yoy.
In the same period, RMKE has dismantled 3,521 trains with a total unloading volume of 9.2 million MT of coal, an increase of 9.7 percent yoy.
The Director of Operations of the Company, William Saputra, said that the operational performance of loading and unloading of this train has reached the target for 2023 of 57.9 percent each. and 74.2 percent.
"In the performance of September 2023, the volume of loading and unloading of the barge was still far below the volume of the train unloading due to operational obstacles related to the fulfillment of the Company's administrative sanctions to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, which is currently in the process of being finalized," he said in a statement to the media, Thursday, November 9.
After the administrative finalization process is complete, William continued, the hampered coal on the stockpile will be loaded into the barge so that the Company can catch up with operational delays which had been delayed since September 2023.
As a result of this administrative sanction, in September 2023 the volume of train unloading and loading and unloading barges fell by 47.4 percent yoy and 45.6 percent yoy, respectively.
"However, in the 9-month period in 2023, the Company is still posting good operational growth," added William.

He further added that the use of fuel increased by 10.9 percent in line with the increase in coal transportation volume, but the ratio of fuel use per MT of coal remained more efficient from 0.91 liters per MT last year to 0.88 liters per MT this year or more efficiently by 3.2 percent for 9 months in 2023.
From the coal sales segment, until September 2023, the Company has sold 1.7 million MT of coal or a decrease of 7.2 percent yoy. The decrease in the volume of coal sellers was also affected by the process of fulfilling administrative sanctions which is currently being finalized by RMKE.
"When the administrative finalization process is complete, coal hampered by stockpiles will be sold and the Company can catch up with operational delays which had been delayed since September 2023," concluded William.
