Timbaland Apologizes After Asking Justin Timberlake To 'Shut Up' Britney Spears

JAKARTA - Timbaland apologized to the public after its comments about Britney Spears drew a counter. The producer and rapper held a live broadcast on TikTok, continuing live broadcasts at the end of last October.

At that time, Britney Spears' memoir was just released and the story about Justin Timberlake was revealed, from abortion to the end of their relationship via message.

In the memoir of The Woman in Me, Spears accused Timberlake's Cry Me a River music video as if describing himself as an antagonist in their relationship.

The Cry Me a River music video features Justin Timberlake as a model and character of his lover, played by a model but has a similar appearance to Spears. The video seemed to justify rumors that Spears was having an affair.

Through her memoir, Britney Spears revealed that Justin Timberlake was the first party to have an affair.

When the live broadcast was held, someone asked about the song Cry Me a River which was discussed again. Timbaland as the writer and producer of the song sang before giving controversial comments.

'He (Spears) is crazy, right? I want to call JT (Justin Timberlake) 'Man, you should shut the woman's mouth' Timbaland replied.

The comment drew a negative response so that Timbaland made an apology via his social media.

"I apologize to Britney and her fans. Are you talking about respecting women? Of course," Timbaland said.

Britney Spears herself did not respond to Timbaland's controversial comments.
