Toyota's Monumental Achievement, Global Vehicle Production Reaches 300 Million Units
JAKARTA - Toyota Motor Corporation, the world's largest automotive company, which has been established since 1935, recorded monumental achievements by achieving a total global production of 300 million units by September 2023.
The Japanese manufacturer revealed that of these, 180.52 million vehicles were produced domestically, South Korea. Meanwhile, 119.6 million units are the result of production abroad.
The data also highlights that the Corolla model is Toyota's mainstay with the highest number of productions, reaching 53.5 million units since its introduction in 1966, which has significantly helped Toyota's success.
Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda stated that this achievement was the result of the hard work of various parties, including suppliers, dealers, stakeholders, and technicians, who are jointly committed to producing the best quality cars.
"The founders of the company have gone through a variety of attempts, including repeated attempts and failures in developing car prototypes. All of these efforts are the basis for Toyota's current success. Toyota has faced many challenges throughout its history, and customers loving Toyota cars have become the main saviors on our journey.," Toyoda said in an official statement from the company, Monday, November 6.

Toyota's President, Koji Sato, also expressed his views in line with Toyoda's statement. He said that this achievement was the result of a strong collaboration, through several obstacles such as earthquakes, fires, the COVID-19 pandemic, and chip supply problems that affected production.
"Every time facing difficulties in car production, all parties work together to overcome and adapt the situation," said Sato.
