OIKN Will Order Illegal Buildings At IKN, Here's The Explanation
The State Capital Authority (OIKN) has confirmed that it will regulate illegal buildings around the IKN Nusantara area, East Kalimantan. This is done in the context of enforcing rules and spatial discipline.
Deputy for OIKN Development Control Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi said that currently along the road to the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) many illegal buildings were established, ranging from hotels, residences, to stalls.
Thomas assessed that the construction of IKN would not be like Jakarta or other cities that had many illegal buildings.
"We will sort out the conditions before and after. After IKN, there are regulations that all buildings built must refer to the detailed spatial planning (RDTR) that we have lowered in the allocation of space and spatial structures. Well, we will guard it," Thomas told reporters at JIExpo Kemayoran, quoted on Saturday, November 4.
Thomas said that as of today, many illegal buildings without permits have been built on the left-right side of the road to KIPP. His party has carried out identification to check whether the buildings were there before or after the IKN Spatial Design (RDTR) was launched.
"Today there is a hotel, there is a resident's house, there are stalls that build without permission. Well, that's our job to bring order. Because later there will be urban revitalization which will not only be outside of KIPP," he said.

Thomas ensured that after conducting identification, his party would immediately follow up on this so that IKN development would not be as chaotic as most other cities in Indonesia.
"We don't want areas outside IKN to grow carelessly, chaotically. We don't want that. So soon we have identified it, we have visited one by one to check licensing data, when to build it, why build it there, already all. Just waiting for time, we will control it," he added.
