In The Past, I Was A Fan, Director Mouly Surya Enthusiastic About The Story Of Filming Together Jessica Alba In The Film Trigger Warning
JAKARTA - Director Mouly Surya admitted that he had been a fan of Hollywood actress Jessica Alba. He shared his experience directing Hollywood actress Jessica Alba for Trigger Warning's new film in a project in collaboration with Netflix United States.
"Yes, I didn't expect to be a fan of him during the Dark Angel era when I was in high school, he was still racing," said Mouly, quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, November 2.
The action thriller genre film is produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee which will be released next year and can be enjoyed through Netflix worldwide.
Mouly said that during the pandemic he started filming, but the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus was spreading in Indonesia, so he and the producer decided to postpone it.
Then, the US producer gave the green light regarding the film, so he chose to work on the film project in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
His decision to go to the US was also due to a shortage of crew due to the pandemic which made many people shift to loading content, such as web-series and so on.
The film industry has changed, everyone is busy, everyone is making web-series, content is spreading and the audience has changed unlike before the pandemic. In fact, the film industry in Indonesia in 2019 before COVID was doing well," he said.

On the other hand, at that time the crew and teams with a capacity in making films were easier to find in the US. According to him, making films in America is arguably the embodiment of the idea of 'American Dream' which is often the dream of young people in the country.
"I'm not an American, but the idea was there, I could be in the film industry," he said.
The Trigger Warning film, written by Josh Olson and John Brancato, started its first shooting since September 1, 2021. John Brancato is also the screenwriter for the filmctions totaling Salvation and Surrogates starring Bruce Willis.
