Ducati Reports Decreased Sales In The 3rd Quarter Of 2023, China Market Drops
JAKARTA - The Italian Ducati manufacturer reported a decline in sales in the third quarter of 2023, with total motorcycle shipments reaching only 47,867 units worldwide. According to the Rideapart page, Thursday, November 2, this figure decreased from the previous year which reached 49,858 units, indicating a 4 percent decline. However, it should be noted that this Italian brand previously recorded the highest sales increase in 2022.
Furthermore, the 2023 report shows an increase in sales in Italy itself, with a total of 8,474 units. In the United States market, there was also an increase in sales by 2 percent, with sales figures reaching 6,704 units, while in the German market, there was an increase of 1 percent.
However, in the Chinese market, there was a drastic decline in sales, with the number reaching only 2,201 units, a 46 percent decrease compared to the previous year.
"We have experienced a decline in sales in China due to a complex market situation, although Ducati has an extraordinary interested community in the country," said Francesco Milicia, Vice President of Global Sales and Retired Sale Ducati.

Furthermore, he revealed that Ducati will develop a comprehensive action plan related to the Chinese market, taking into account specific situations, in order to monitor the market with the aim of restoring sales performance as before.
Meanwhile, during the 3rd quarter, the Ducati Multistrada V4 variant became the most popular motorcycle with a total of 8,680 units, followed by Panigale V4 and Diavel V4 which also proved popular. Ducati also announced that the limited edition of Monster 30th Anniversario, a total of 500 units, had been sold out.
