The North Kalimantan Provincial Government Makes The White Mountain An Integrated Tourism Area
TANJUNG SELOR In an effort to re-optimize tourism potential in the Gunung Putih area in Tanjung Palas sub-district, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan (Kaltara), a review was carried out to the location.
Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bulungan Regency Risdianto accompanied by the Head of the Environment Agency (DLH), the Department of Tourism, Youth and Sports (Disparpora), the sub-district head and also the local sub-district conducted a survey of several points in the white mountain area which would later be carried out mapping and planning the development of this tourist area to be more attractive for visits.
Risdianto said that in the future, the Gunung Putih tourist village needs to be developed more seriously in order to attract visitors.
"One of them is by looking at the condition of the mountain with a steep vertical kars (gamping) cliff, allowing installation via a ferrite or iron ladder planted on a cliff wall, which will later be used to climb the top of the mountain for adrenaline lovers," he said, Wednesday, November 1.
His party will do a mapping. In addition, the hiking trail will also be arranged.
"There will be a plan to install it via ferrata, to install the flying fox if possible," said Risdianto.
The peak of the white mountain is also slowly improving so that it will become an interesting photo spot, because from the top of this rock mountain it can be seen from the atmosphere of Tanjung Selor from above.
According to the Bulungan Regional Secretary, the most important thing is that the Gunung Putih area can later be developed in an integrated manner, of course, with other tours in Bulungan Regency.
"We hope that in the future, this tourist attraction will also be utilized by various communities that hold activities here, which of course have a lot of positive impacts. Apart from the local revenue sector as well as the growth and development of the people's economy, especially MSMEs later," he explained.

The initial steps that will be taken, said the former Head of the North Kalimantan Bappeda Litbang, are carried out by involving his experts to obtain recommendations for proper management and in accordance with the conditions of the White Mountain before development begins.
The Gunung Putih area is in accordance with the regent's decree, covering an area of 200 hectares, which includes several rock karst mountains including, White Mountain, Wincung, Wayang, Imang, and Mount Kerubung into an existing landscape unit.
