Karhutla In Indralaya Successfully Extinguished
The South Sumatra Police Ditsamapta Damkar Team managed to extinguish forest and land fires (karhutla) in Indralaya, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra.
South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Rachmad Wibowo said that after receiving a report from the local bhabinkamtibmas regarding the occurrence of forest and land fires in Tanjung Seteko Village, Indralaya District, Indralaya Regency, Wadir Samapta Polda Sumsel AKBP Yusantio immediately sent the Fire Brigade Team of the South Sumatra Regional Police to the TKP.
"The team, which consists of 26 people, managed to extinguish the fire at 19.00 WIB after five hours of extinguishing it," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 1.
The equipment brought by the South Sumatra Police to the TKP is a 'double cabin' vehicle, a truck carrying troops, a fire truck with a capacity of 10 tons of water, and supported by a water tanker truck from BPBD Ogan Ilir.
In addition, on the first day of assignment as many as 53 personnel from the Mobile Brigade Unit and the South Sumatra Regional Police Ditsamapta who were seconded to Manggala Agni succeeded in extinguishing the fire in the Limited Production Forest (HPT) area, in Cinta Jaya Village, East Pedamaran.
The blackout operation lasted seven hours and was made easier by the rain at dawn on Wednesday (1/11).
The team managed to extinguish the fire in an area of 300 hectares that had been on since August and got worse in the past week.

The South Sumatra Police Team led by Kompol Agus Apri Irawanto will continue to be at the Daops Command Post to be deployed to the location of the hotspots which are evaluated every night to determine effective extinguishing strategies, as well as train the skills of technical police personnel to extinguish the fire from Manggala Agni.
