Welfer Jardim, Has The Nickname Neymar From Indonesia Who Likes To Eat Yellow Rice
Welber Jardim is one of the diaspora players who will be the mainstay of the U-17 Indonesian national team to appear in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. His qualified performance cannot be separated from his experience playing in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
In Brazil, Welber even got the nickname Neymar from Indonesia by his teammates, considering that this player did have Indonesian-African mixed blood. The call was also assigned to Welfer because he was of Brazilian descent from his father, Eliangelo de Jesus Jardim.
"All the idol children of Neymar, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo. Like me, I am now also called Neymar. In Brazil there are people calling me Neymar from Indonesia, now all call me Neymar from Indonesia," said Welber sumringah when asked about his current nickname after training at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Senayan on Monday, October 30.
Welber Jardim enjoys his togetherness with his colleagues in the U-17 national team. The 2006-born player also admitted that it was not difficult to mingle with the team under the tutelage of the Milky Way.
Moreover, Welber is also known to be quite fluent in Indonesian, which makes it easier for him to communicate with his teammates. Welber Jardim's love for Indonesia is also shown in small ways, including his confession which really likes yellow rice culinary. "Yes, it (the favorite food) yellow rice, sweet yellow rice, delicious rice," he said with a laugh.
Previously, Welber Jardim was one of two diaspora stars projected to appear in the 2023 U-17 World Cup. Apart from Welber, Amar Rayhan Brkic (TSG Hoffenheim) was also the choice of the Milky Way in the team.
Unfortunately, Amar has not been seen in the U-17 national team training session at SUGBK this Monday because the 16-year-old footballer is currently licensed to strengthen his club Hoffenheim U-17 in B-Junioren Bundesliga Sud/Sudwest.
"Yes, he has permission to have two matches, yesterday he last played. Actually there are two more matches (with his club)," explained Bima Sakti on the same occasion.
