Vice President Grateful That The Al-Qur'an Read Literacy Index Is High
JAMBI - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is grateful that the results of a survey conducted by the Ministry of Religion showed that the national Al-Qur'an literacy index this year reached high numbers.
"Alhamdulillah, the results of the Al-Qur'an literacy index survey conducted by the Ministry of Religion reached 66 percent or high category," said the Vice President in his remarks when inaugurating the opening of the Tilawatil Qur'an and Musabaqah Al-HadisNasional XXVII Selection in 2023 reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 30.
The Vice President asked the Al-Qur'an literacy index to continue to be improved amidst the development of digital technology and currents.
Ma'ruf Amin reminded the younger generation of Indonesian Muslims not to leave the Qur'an and hadith as life guides.
"Do not get all the attention of technology, so forget to read the Qur'an and practice it in everyday life. Busy reading newspapers should not make you forget to read the Qur'an," he ordered.
The Vice President also encouraged the younger generation of Indonesian Muslims to learn the stories of ulama and Muslim figures who inspire and increase self-sacrifice so that Indonesia can provide solutions to various problems faced by the world.
On the other hand, Ma'ruf Amin also hopes that the younger generation of Indonesian Muslims will continue to be inspired to become a superior and advanced generation, while continuing to uphold the Qur'an and hadith who will guide and illuminate the path of life
At the end of his speech, the Vice President conveyed a rhyme, "Come to Jambi for choice of land, the people obey, the city is in place. The younger generation, let's read the Qur'an, make life bright and full of benefits."
Meanwhile, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in his speech encouraged the Tilawatil Quran Development Institute (LPTQ) to continue to prepare a roadmap for strengthening Al-Qur'an literacy.
The Minister of Religion stressed that LPTQ should be the locomotive of literacy to promote deeper knowledge of the holy book and hadith.
"LPTQ has a very broad role in the activities of grounding the Qur'an and hadith. Conveying the spirit of the Qur'an is an important part of maintaining the character of moderate and advanced diversity," said the Minister of Religion.

In his remarks, Jambi Governor Al Haris expressed his gratitude for the willingness of the Vice President to attend as well as inaugurate the opening of the Tilawatil Qur'an and Musabaqah Al-HadisNasional XXVII Selection in 2023 in Jambi.
Al Haris is grateful that Jambi was again given the mandate to host the Tilawatil Qur'an and Musabaqah Al-HadisNasional Selection after the last time in 1997.
"This is a great noble task, which has no heavy feeling in our hearts at all. This is an opportunity to ground the Qur'an in the midst of life," said Al Haris.
