Again, Bulog Imports 6,000 Tons Of Rice From Thailand
MANADO - Perum Bulog Divre North Sulawesi and Gorontalo (Sulutgo) again imported 6,000 tons of rice from Thailand.
The plan is that the dozens of imported rice will enter at the end of November 2023.
"We will continue to strengthen rice stocks in North Sulawesi Province, and currently we have requested imports from Thailand of 6,000 tons," said North Sulawesi Bulog Drive Regional Leader Abdul Muis S Ali as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 30.
Abdul said that the plan is for imported rice from Thailand to enter at the end of November 2023 at Bitung Port, North Sulawesi.
"So people don't need to worry because the rice stock is quite large, and is able to meet consumer demand," he said.
Bulog, he said, would continue to coordinate with the provincial and city governments, if necessary for additional rice market operations, Bulog would immediately prepare it.
He explained that this rice from Thailand only has a 'broken' of five percent or it can be said to be of good quality.

He said that previously there had also been 12,400 tons of imported rice from Thailand in the North Sulawesi Bulog warehouse.
"People can go directly to Bulog or our food house (RPK) to buy rice at a much cheaper price than in the market, with good quality," he explained.
