2 Illegal Hunters In TN Way Kambas Arrested By Police
EAST LAMPUNG - East Lampung Resort Police (Polres), Lampung, arrested two people who were carrying out illegal hunting at the Way Kambas National Park (TNWK).
"Joint officers from the Way Bungur and TNWK Sector have arrested two residents, who are suspected of being involved in illegal hunting, in a protected forest area," said East Lampung Police Chief AKBP M Rizal Muchtar, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 26.
He explained that the two suspects were ST (18), and NT (62), a resident of Way Bungur District.
Based on information compiled, the two suspects are suspected of entering a protected forest area, through the Bungur Session II route, to carry out illegal deer hunting.
"Joint officers then carry out interception efforts, on road access routes that are predicted to be passed by the suspect," he said.
The police arrested the suspect ST first along with evidence of the results of his illegal hunting.
"We secure the ST without a fight," he said.

In the process of examining and developing the suspect ST, police officers then arrested the suspect NT, who was also involved in illegal hunting in the protected forest area of Way Kambas.
"Currently, the suspects along with evidence in the form of three motorbikes, two sacks, flashlights, shoes, and tens of kilograms of meat suspected of being the result of illegal hunting, have been handed over to the East Lampung Police Headquarters for further legal processing," he said.
