Police Difficulty Revealing Human Skeleton Identity Found In Duren Sawit Waterway
JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police is still investigating the discovery of a human skull and three skeleton bones in a water channel on Jalan Raden Inten, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. The police experienced difficulties because no traces were found around the location.
"We appeal to residents who have lost their families or neighbors, please contact the Duren Sawit Police," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police, AKP Indra Darmawan to reporters, Tuesday, October 24.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police has not been able to confirm whether the skull and three human skeleton bones are criminal victims or not. Whether the skeleton was washed away by the flood or deliberately dumped by the perpetrators of the crime.
"While it cannot be explained in detail. Later, based on an examination from a forensic doctor (Polri Hospital)," he said.
Police said the bone parts found in the waterways were also incomplete. Although there are three long bones, the police have not been able to confirm that they are the bones of the hands or feet.
"Forensic doctors can determine whether it is from the bones of their hands or feet. If there are residents who report losing their families, later we will direct them to the Police Hospital for further processing (dNA examination)," he said.
The human head skull and 3 bones were found wrapped in a t-shirt in a sewer - a water ditch in front of the DKI Kavling, Jalan Radin Inten, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Monday, October 23, afternoon.

The human skeleton was found by the East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-Department (SDA) task force which was draining the canal.
Erwani (40), one of the East Jakarta SDA Sub-dept. Task Force confirmed the discovery of a human skeleton. The incident began when he and his other colleagues were draining the channel.
"Initially we were draining the drains. This is a human head, I'm curious. I opened it (previously wrapped in a t-shirt). Previously (a skull) this was in his head t-shirt. There was also a hand bone," Erwani told reporters at the location, Monday, October 23.
The waterways are connecting channels (Phb) from Kalimalang.
