Andreas Disappointed That Gibran Wants To Be Nominated By Other Political Parties: Is PDIP Unfair?
JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDIP DPP Andreas Hugo Pareira admitted that he was disappointed with the decision of the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who wanted to be nominated as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) accompanying Prabowo Subianto. Andreas understands that Gibran's decision is his political right. However, according to him, the attitude of the mayor of Solo who accepted the proposal of another political party to become a vice presidential candidate deeply hurts many people, especially those who knew and recorded the journey of his career. "Has the PDI-P been unfair to him? As far as I know this has never happened. The person concerned has been privileged in the party, nominated, fought for and elected as mayor in relatively new political career ages," Andreas told reporters, Monday, October 23. "The person concerned was also in various public statements recorded in various media, both electronic media, print and social media with very polite styles, always stated as PDI-P cadres, adhered to regulations, adhered to the orders of the general chairman of the party," he continued. Andreas said, the Indonesian people recorded that commitment in their memory. However, in just an instant Gibran left the presidential candidate who was promoted by the PDI-P and joined other presidential candidates because he was nominated as vice president. As a young person, Andreas said, of course, it tarnished Gibran's own political face and would be a bad record about the character of the leader, integrity and honesty in politics.
Where should a candidate for leader be shown, especially in a person who is nominated for vice president. "Can what has been said to be held all this time? Today's treatment of GRR (Gibran) against PDI Perjuangan, is not impossible, the day after tomorrow against the party that carries it as a vice presidential candidate, it is also impossible for the people who vote for it," said Andreas.
