Ruko In Bandung Burns, Toddler Trapped In Fire Found Dead
A fire hit a semi-permanent shop house (ruko) in Cihurang Village, Bunijaya Village, Gununghalu District, West Bandung Regency (KBB) Sunday, October 22.
The fire that occurred at 05.30 WIB resulted in the death of a toddler woman who died trapped. The building, which functions as a house as well as a counter, sold out to almost flattened to the ground.
"It is true that we received a report around 6 am about a fire in the Bunijaya area," said the Commander of the KBB Fire Brigade Team for the Cililin Region, Wahyu Agus, Sunday afternoon.
The fire incident, said Wahyu, was thought to have occurred due to a fire from a wax that spread into the flammable material inside the semi-permanent shophouse.
"So the condition of the incident was caused by a candle that spread into the cloth, either falling or something, then the fire spread and ended in fire," said Wahyu.
At that time there were only toddlers who were in the house because they were fast asleep. Meanwhile, five other people survived because they were outside the house. "This fire claimed lives, namely one child aged approximately 3 years," said Wahyu.
The fire extinguishing was completed at 07.30 WIB. Apart from casualties, this fire also caused material losses of up to Rp. 150 million because the burned area was almost completely intact. "We put 1 unit of Pancar at the scene. Until it is finished, the handling is carried out for about 1 hour," said Wahyu.

The incident is now being handled by the Gununghalu Police, while the victim has been buried by the family.
"It is true that a semi-permanent shophouse fire has occurred, causing the death of one toddler. And the case has been handled by the Gununghalu Police and the family will immediately bury the body," concluded Head of Public Relations of the Cimahi Police, Iptu Gofur.
