MUI Prepares Audience Letter With US Ambassador Regarding Palestinian Issues

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) is preparing a letter to submit a meeting with the United States (US) Ambassador to Indonesia to discuss the Palestinian issue.

"I feel it is very important to meet America because I speak the term America, yes, I mentioned that it is increasingly primitive. These are words that are actually not necessary, but are clearly primitive," said Head of MUI for Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 20.

Previously, his party had invited the US Embassy in Jakarta to be a speaker at a seminar on the Palestinian issue. However, never did the embassy come to fulfill the invitation.

He argued at the current open and modernera that the United States chose to support the acts of dehumanization and systemic destruction of humanity carried out by Israel against Palestine.

The important point that will be conveyed to the US Ambassador in the invitation is asking to change the perspective on humanitarian issues.

According to him, the US perspective should be oriented towards humanity and world peace.

"Change the US perspective on this world. It must be humanitarian-oriented and peace-genuine," he said.

In addition to preparing an audience letter with the US Ambassador, his party has also sent a letter to the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OKI).

In a letter sent to the OIC, it asked all members to strengthen consolidation against the humanitarian tragedy in Palestine.
