Investigate SYL's Handling Case, Dozens Of Witnesses Examined 8 Among Them KPK Employees
Polda Metro Jaya has examined 52 witnesses in handling cases of alleged corruption in the form of extortion or gratification against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL. Of the dozens of witnesses, eight of them were employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"So, as of last Thursday, October 19, 2023, 52 witnesses have been examined or asked for information from witnesses," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Friday, October 20.
Of the dozens of witnesses, some of them were KPK employees. Then, there is also the Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar and Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
"Of the 52 witnesses that we have examined or requested information from 8 KPK employees," he said.
This number will continue to float along with the investigation process. Moreover, investigators will examine several other witnesses, including KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri next week.
"On Monday, we will reschedule the examination of several witnesses, we will summon 3 witnesses on Monday's examination schedule," said Ade.
Meanwhile, Firli Bahuri did not fulfill the summons for examination, today. The reason is that the KPK chairman needed time to study the examination material.
"(The reason) it takes time for FB or the chairman of the KPK RI to explore the examination material that will be carried out by Polda Metro Jaya investigators," he said.
