Bali Forms Tourism Satpol PP, Patrols With Kintamani Dogs
DENPASAR - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Bali formed a Tourism Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to complete the levy policy for foreign tourists, so these two things will begin simultaneously in February 2024.
"This is actually the initiative of the Governor of Bali, there is a regional regulation on the collection of foreign tourists, of course the implications are how to provide return benefits for foreign tourists, including how tourists can comfortably travel and interact in Bali," said Head of Bali Civil Service Police Unit Nyoman Rai Dharmadi as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 20.
Rai explained that later the Tourism Satpol PP will number 31 people in one platoon, they will patrol, especially in tourism objects with a uniform appearance more relaxed than usual formal tasks.
"Of course we are preparing human resources, later we will train to strengthen knowledge about tourism, foreign languages and attitude behavior while on duty. The Tourism Satpol PP looks lighter wearing shorts and collar t-shirts," he said.
Later foreign tourists who come to Bali and are subject to a levy of IDR 150 thousand are expected to be able to travel comfortably, because Rai and his team will be tasked with maintaining a conducive situation to avoid disturbances in order.
"In addition, the imposition of levies has consequences for the Bali Provincial Government so that it can truly provide a sense of security to tourists, including if there are foreign tourists who violate the provisions of the norms, coordination will be carried out on immigration and the police," he said.
For starters, the Tourism Satpol PP will be placed in tourist attractions and will later expand to the scope of areas that are crowded with tourists, so that in addition to security patrols and traffic order.
Rai gave an example of tourists who often violate traffic rules, even renting a two-wheeled vehicle without pocketing a driving license (SIM).

While patrolling the Satpol PP team, they will also cooperate with the kintamani dogs who will be trained early and will be brought in February 2024.
"The walking friend of the kintamani dog that we have prepared from the officers and prioritized education, because we have a smart local dog, no less handsome than the foreign race, this is also a friend of tourists in tourist attractions," said the Head of Satpol PP Bali.
By implementing a humanist attitude, in the future after running optimally, the Tourism Satpol PP is planned to be formed in all regencies/cities, even the Bali Provincial Government makes this a pilot project that will be used as a reference to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
