Komnas HAM Asks The Kapolda To Take Firm Action Against 2 Women's Killers In Dekai Who Are Suspected Of Being KKB
JAYAPURA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) representing Papua asked the Papuan Police Chief to enforce the law against perpetrators of sexual murder and violence which resulted in the death of two women IS and AK Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains.
Head of the Papua National Human Rights Commission, Frits Ramandey, said that his party would carry out proactive monitoring of cases of murder and sexual violence against the two victims.
"For this reason, we also ask the Yahukimo Regent to actively encourage, strive and create a conducive situation by involving all relevant stakeholders," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 19.
According to Ramandey, his party also hopes that the Yahukimo Regency Government (Pemkab) will improve the management of the handling of refugees and pay full attention to services to fulfill basic needs, including providing temporary shelters that are feasible for internal refugees.

"We urge the KKB not to commit acts of violence and not to make ordinary civilians, especially women as targets or objects of violence," he said.
He explained that the two victims were part of an internal refugee group due to armed contact between the TNI and the Police and the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Dekai District since August 21, 2023.
