JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta emphasized that there must still be bicycle lanes in Jakarta. Although, currently his staff is dismantling the stick cone for the bicycle lane barrier on a number of roads.
"Yes, if the bicycle lane is okay, it must be there," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, October 17.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, admitted that his party revoked the stick cone for the bicycle lane barrier on 13 roads in the capital city. The revocation of the stick cone was carried out because there was damage based on public reports.
"There is a public complaint in the CRM system (Cepat Respons Masyarakat) to be followed up. Because the stick cone is damaged, it is done by removing the stick cone," said Syafrin in his statement.
The gradually lifted bicycle lane barriers were carried out on Jalan Army Students, Jalan Kramat Raya, Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jalan Purification.

The reason for the removal of the stick cone was because it was damaged which was caused by being hit by a motorized vehicle. Syafrin admitted that his party also did not know when the damage would occur.
"The results of the survey by field officers for the Traffic Sector showed that there was a stick cone damaged when hit by a motorized vehicle," said Syafrin.
Furthermore, Syafrin explained that the removal of the damaged stick cone was a step to ensure the safety of cyclists and other road users on the road so that there were no traffic accidents.
